Director Russell Mulcahy (a legend in music circles for his video clips with Elton John, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart and artists too numerous to mention) creates an action/suspense movie which VARIETY rates alongside epic pics – “Jaws“ and “Psycho“.

The story evolves around a freak – a monster size boar that is quickly killing his surrounding environment, including people. The lead role is played by Gregory Harrison, well known for his charismatic role in Trapper John: who gives a superb performance as the quiet, yet threatening American. The story is complemented by an almost visually devastating soundtrack created by Iva Davies (Icehouse).
This movie not only marks Mulcahy as one of the world’s best entertainers, but also marks the beginning of a new cult figure, the RAZORBACK.
